Welcome to GIS Tutorials from Salford GIS.
Salford GIS has been providing GIS training for over 10 years, and in that time have trained well over 1000 people in the use of GIS software and in the general concepts relating to GIS and Digital Mapping.
Our reputation for quality and relevance is second to none, and we are constantly investing to make the training experience as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
We firmly believe there is no substitute for tutor-led training – our trainers have broad experience and have the expertise to place a topic into context for a diverse audience. They offer the sort of knowledge, presentation skills and personal touch that cannot be replicated with an on-line training course.
However, feedback tells us that it can sometimes be difficult to retain the skills learnt on a training course. Many users only need access to GIS on an occasional basis, for example on a specific project. When they come back to use it again a few months later it’s not easy to get up to speed.

The Tutorials have been designed to help point you in the right direction, They are not intended as a substitute for a tutor-led training course, instead they complement the traditional approach to training and make it easier for you to answer the question “How Do I …. ?”
