Modules How to Use GIS Tutorials
GIS Tutorials is a subscription-only service.
- Once an organisation has taken out a subscription, any user within that organisation can register and apply for a user name and password during the subscription period. Subscriptions may be taken for a 12 or 24 month period.
- One person within an organisation needs to act as “administrator”, which simply means they take the initial responsibility for setting up the subscription. There is no need for them to control subsequent registrations as this will be done by the individual user who is recognised as a member of their organisation by means of their email suffix (e.g. j.smith@salford-gis.co.uk). However, information about registrations will be passed back to the administrator so they can be made aware of the number of users.
- The tutorials are divided into ArcView and MapInfo sections, and then sub-sections aimed at Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Users.
- Most of the tutorials last around 5 minutes, and you are free to view, pause, or start again at any time.
- Once you are logged in, the tutorials available under your subscription will be shown in GREEN. All others will be shown in RED. Click on any GREEN tutorial to view it.
- If your organisation already has a subscription and you are registered as a user, simply enter your email and password at Log-In
- If your organisation already has a subscription, but you would like to set yourself up as a user, simply click the Register tab above. You can then register as a user within that account.
